Original player map: 24 × 18 squares, 70 pixels per square, 1680 × 1260 pixels. Assume one square equals 5 feet or 1.5 meters. No GM clues are printed on the player files.
For a VTT, set the scene grid to 24 × 18 and 70 pixels per square. For print, keep the source at full resolution and print at your chosen physical square size; a large map may need tiled pages.
Run this encounter
A cool glow behind a stack of hay seems supernatural, but a curious child has hidden a lantern there while making shadow puppets. An older ghost may still remember the orchard promise and can offer a clue if the party treats the barn respectfully.
- The broad central aisle keeps the barn passable when the side areas are crowded.
- Hay stacks provide cover and take extra movement to climb.
- Worktables can hold tools, apples, and clues; keep sharp tools as descriptive details unless everyone wants hazards.
GM-only clue and placement
The child is behind the western worktable. The old ghost is a nonhostile memory that repeats “one basket goes home” when the party finds the lantern.
